Insidermedicine receives Public Education Award
Vancouver, B.C., 2 July, 2009 Insidermedicine has been recognised by the Canadian Dermatology Association for their innovative If I Had... patient-education series.
Insidermedicine is honored to receive a Public Education Award for a series of patient-oriented dermatology videos which presents patients with information pertaining to common skin diseases like psoriasis, acne, and skin cancer. The Public Education Award is granted by the Canadian Dermatology Association in recognition of excellence in patient and public education.
In presenting the award, the Canadian Dermatology Association described Insidermedicine’s Dermatology series as “innovative, easily accessible, understandable and accurate.“
"Insidermedicine is honored to receive this prestigious award" said Sanjay Sharma M.D., a Queen's University Professor of Ophthalmology and Epidemiology, and Insidermedicine's Editor-in-Chief. “It was a pleasure to partner with the CDA to create a series of educational videos informing patients as to when to seek medical attention for common and serious skin conditions. Our If I Had... series asks world-renowned doctors about what they would do if they had the medical condition for which they are the leading authority. It was also terrific to be able to interview some Canada’s leading dermatologists to help create this series.”

Insidermedicine’s content is widely distributed online through various channels, including google news, iTunes and Medline plus.
